Career

How a field career grows

  1. Level 1

    Operator

Cover events to WET’s capture standard.

  2. Level 2

    Senior Operator

Take on complex venues and mentor new operators.

  3. Level 3

    Producer

Lead an event’s coverage and its on-site crew.

  4. Level 4

    Lead / Engineer

Own a region’s coverage, or specialise in the technical stack.

The ladder describes how the program is designed to grow. The first operators will come from this waitlist.

Coverage

What coverage looks like

The kinds of events WET Field is designed for — the live moments that rarely have a camera, let alone a record.
  • Sports

Matches, meets and tournaments at local and regional venues.

  • Racing

Tracks, rallies and off-road events, with timing on the record.

  • Dog shows

Rings, trials and agility, judged live.

  • Competitions

Contests of skill, from chess to robotics.

  • Auctions

Lots, bids and hammer prices as they happen.

  • Conventions

Expos, launches and keynotes on the show floor.

  • Local events

Fairs, festivals and community days that rarely get a camera.

Requirements

Requirements & equipment

What is asked of operators

  • A WET account

Applications are tied to an account so you can follow their status. Sign-in is an emailed code — no password.

  • Dependable availability

Coverage runs on the event’s clock. Operators commit to the events they accept and arrive ready.

  • Care with rights and people

Film only what the venue’s agreement allows, follow the venue’s rules on site, and respect everyone in the frame.

  • Checks before any assignment

Eligibility checks, such as identity or right to work, will be set out before any assignment. None happen at the waitlist stage.

Equipment the application asks about

  • Camera

Anything from a recent phone to broadcast cameras. Say what you have — no gear is required to join the waitlist.

  • Audio

Microphones or recorders for clean event sound.

  • Connectivity

A mobile hotspot or bonded uplink for sending video from site.

  • Transport

A driver’s license and a way to move gear widen the events you can reach.

FAQ

Questions applicants ask first

Is this a job offer?

No. Applications join the waitlist. WET Field has no open assignments yet and no pay rates are set; the terms will be shared with applicants before anyone is asked to work.

How will operators be paid?

Pay rates and terms have not been set. Nothing on this page is a promise of earnings.

Do I need professional experience?

No. The application asks your level in camera work, production and technical work, from none yet to professional.

Does field work involve trading?

No. Field work is coverage: video, timing and event records. WET is not an exchange, and field work never involves taking orders, handling funds or trading on anyone’s behalf.

What happens to my application?

It is recorded with your WET account and seen only by the WET team. There is no review timeline yet; the team may reach out when roles open. If you join the network, your application ID links it to your operator record.
