Step 6

The field crew rule

Every WET field operator works under this rule. It is required to apply.

Coverage staff do not trade, do not relay, and latency is never sold.

No WET employee, contractor or field operator holds or trades a position in any contract on an event they are assigned to cover, from the moment of assignment until every listing on that event has settled. No one relays an observation of a covered event to anyone before WET publishes it to everyone. For event observations, latency is never sold: every reader, paid or not, receives the same record at the same moment.

The rule in full: WET governance — conflicts, rule 7. How WET applies it: field crew rules.
